This is my latest two wheeler, a 2006 BMW R1150 GS Adventure. I'm the third owner. First owner did about 20,000km in 2006-2007, Second owner added another 50,000km from '07 until I bought her in December of 2013 with 71,000km on the odometer. The last owner named her 'Black Betty', per the yellow decal on the fuel tank. The last owner did a lot of dry country back road touring during his seven odd years with her, he also fitted a set of 55W HID floodlights[awesome]and a custom saddle. 3 months after I bought her she was treated to a full annual service at my local BMW specialists' workshop. I also had a set of Michelin Anakee 3's fitted as I rarely venture off the black stuff...and the Anakees are fine on gravel with pressures lowered.
The previous owner had a Remus alloy can with removable baffle and stainless Y pipe fitted[sounds great]handguard extensions, Pirelli 90 degree alloy valve adapters. K&N oiled foam filter & prefilter, cam chain tensioner upgrade
Other mods I have done are a 55W HID low beam conversion[stock lighting is awful]quality friction throttle lock, Touratech ss adjustable gear lever, Touratech lockable oil filler plug, Laminar screen extension, 3rd Gear generic top box, BMW GS tank bag.
I've clocked up about 13,000km since I bought her and the only non maintenance item replaced was a right hand stick coil. A $220 BMW part....ouch!
